The top of the range can be no more than twice the bottom. The range also has to be visible to everyone, and it has to include the salary you actually offer the person you hire.
If your ad misses any of these, MOM can reject the Employment Pass application linked to it.
The three conditions
- Visible. Every applicant has to be able to see the range. "Competitive salary" doesn't count.
- Not too wide. The maximum can't be more than 2 times the minimum. If the minimum is S$4,500, the maximum can be up to S$9,000.
- Includes the offer. The salary you offer your Employment Pass candidate has to sit inside the range.
Test yourself
| Range in the ad | Result |
|---|---|
| S$4,000 to S$8,000 | Passes. The top is exactly twice the bottom. |
| S$3,000 to S$7,000 | Too wide. S$7,000 is more than twice S$3,000. |
| "Competitive salary" | Fails. There's no visible range at all. |
Changing the salary later
If you change the salary after posting, you need a new ad, and it has to stay open for another 14 days in a row. See the 14-day rule.
